ROUTE 62 & GARTEN ROUTE ÜBER OUDTSHOORN (7 TAGE) |

Day 1 - We leave Cape Town behind, and travel along the N1 (National Road) over
the scenic Du Toitskloof Pass. Our journey takes us through Worcester, the
largest town in the Breede River valley.
We pass through Robertson, known for it’s roses, race- horses and wine and might
do some winetasting if you wish.
Then we continue our travels through Montagu and Barrydale were we stop for
coffee (time permitting), before we continue via Calitzdorp, the Port capital of
South Africa, to Oudtshoorn.
Day 2 - We explore the Oudtshoorn area and visit the world renown Cango Caves,
learn all about the ostrich and visit an Ostrich Farm. Then, after lunch, we
make our way over the Outeniqua Pass towards George, Wildernis and Knysna, where
we will stay overnight.
Day 3 - The third day is spent seeing all Knysna has to offer. (see below for
exchangeable options) We visit the Knysna Heads and get a birds-eye view from
the top. A cruise on the lagoon (weather permitting) or a visit in the
Featherbed Nature reserve. We spend the night in Knysna.
(exchangeable options: (1) Elephant Sancturary – learn about these gentle giants
and feed and touch an Elephant. (2) Monkeyland – learn about monkeys and also
visit the largest Bird sanctuary in the area. (3) Visit Plettenberg Bay with
it’s beautiful beaches, or take a boat trip to see the whales (in season). (4)
Travel the Bloukrans and the Grootriver Passes and visit the Garden of Eden.
Day 4 - Today we travel via Port Elizabeth, to the Addo Elephant Park. We’ll
stop at the Bloukrans Bridge, with the worlds highest Bungi Jump at 216m. Late
in the afternoon we’ll go on Safari and learn more about the African Bush.
Dinner will be around an open fire (weather permitting), where we can discuss
the days sightings.
Day 5 - We go in search of Addos Elephants and see what else the Park has to
offer. Today you may spend the day relaxing in the African Bush., enjoy the game
viewing, nature, and the wide open spaces.
Day 6 - We leave for Knysna via Port Elizabeth. On our way back, we visit the
Tsitsikamma National Park, with South Africas longest suspension bridge, after
lunch and a nice walk, we’ll make our way back to Knysna, where we’ll spend the
night.
Day 7 - Today we leave for Cape Town, stopping over in Mossel Bay for lunch and
a look at the Portugese Caravelle and the Post shoe, used by early sea-farers to
keep up communication with their loved ones. Then we travel via Albertina and
Swellendam, back to Cape Town.
